Notchview is a pleasant, well-maintained conservation/cross-country ski area by the Trustees of Reservations. Was an old estate/mountain retreat owned by a wealthy family. Not much of a climb to Judges Hill as the entire surrounding area is already at high elevation. This is a popular cross country skiing area with lots of maintained trails, so it might be a tough place to hike in the winter when it's busy with skiers. But in the fall, I had the place to myself.
