I camped at the Aspen campground after completing my Whale Peak loop hike. I still had plenty of daylight and no storms were approaching so I decided to go for it. I walked the road to the Colorado Trail and used it to get to the highpoint near the summit ridge. From there I bushwhacked around the south side until I found the gully that led to the summit.
