Although this isn't very tall as far as mountains, being and old volcano the climb in some areas is pretty rough and steep, with lots of plants (cacti, yucca and many things with thorns) and the potential for rattlesnakes hiding among the many boulders and cracks in rocks. Doing it when the temperature is above 90 (93-94 when I did it) it can also give you quite a workout. But, the view of the surrounding country is awesome (thornscrub, agricultural lands and Hill Country to the north, along with other nearby volcanic hills) is awesome!
