Steve and I did a loop of Fir, Spruce, Hemlock and Winnisook Lake mountains from Rt 47. Additionally we traversed over the west peak of Winnisook Lake on our way to the higher summit. The rain we encountered on our way from Fir to Spruce had ceased and we were actually starting to dry out a bit on our way to Hemlock. The top is similar to Spruce in that it is flat with no apparent summit point and we searched for a cairn without any luck. The whack from Spruce is quick and easy though I’m beginning to feel like I just went through a car wash being soaking wet from head to toe from a combination of yesterday’s rain on the foliage, light showers today and high humidity. On the upside I’m earning my ice cream treat after dinner tonight.
