A group of 3 adults and 7 scouts from Troop5 Palo Alto travelled to Yosemite on June 24, 2006. We stayed overnight at the Backpackers camp near Curry Village. The morning of June 27 we hiked with full backpack up the Falls and into the Little Yosemite campground. We spend the afternoon at the Little Merced river, swimming (very cold) and sunbathing. We enjoyed a campfire and tales in the evening. The next morning we left around 7 AM and reached the foot of the Half Dome at around 9 AM. We reached the top at around 9:30 with very few fellow visitors. We enjoyed the scenery, rested, and took pictures. At 10 we departed and were back at little Yosemite at 11:30 AM. During our return, traffic increased and we were happy to have made the top early.
