Last day of a holiday based at Bassenthwaite. We decided to walk a circuit of 8 of these pleasant green & grassy hills. The 1st & lowest being Longlands Fell at 483m & the highest being Knott at 710m. We started & finished the circuit at Longlands village on the NW side of the hill. We left the village on a good track up the easy N ridge to the summit of Longlands Fell. We then walked up to the summit to Lowthwaite Fell, then descended to Broad Moss & up to Brae Fell, which is the end point of a higher ridge, enjoying good far reaching views. Here we stopped for a lunch break, before continuing along the broad ridge & up to Little Sca Fell. A brief stop before continuing the short ascent to the nearby Great Sca Fell, our 5th summit of the day. We then continued to Knott, Frozen Fell and finally Meal Fell, before descending through the gap of Trusmadoor to the valley and by the River Ehen back to Longlands village.
