My girlfriend and I did this trail while on a camping trip to Prescott. The trail head was easy to find and the trail very easy to follow. The trail is has just been built and so it still had that "new trail" smell to it. It started off with a very gentle slope up to the white water tank and into the inner basin of the hill. About a quarter mile past the water tank, the trail started a series of long gentle switchbacks up the inner part of the basin up to the saddle. At each turn in the trail, the city had placed a metal picnic table. I don’t think I’ve seen that before on a trail, but that’s cool. Lots of picnic options. Once at the top of the saddle or ridge, the official trail hooked to the east and continued up to one of the two main prominences of the hill. There you have great views to the north, east and south. You could even see the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff, which was pretty cool. The city has placed a series of plaques at the top, describing the significance of this hill, which I found interesting. I then made a quick run up to the radio towers on the other prominence, which is slightly higher than the end of the trail. From this prominence, you can see the town of Prescott, Granite Mountain and Watson Lake, below.
