This is one of those peaks that one can drive close to the highpoint. Problem is finding the exact highpoint as the area is fairly flat and has several candidates. Best to walk around to be sure you got it. Primary access to the area is via forest road 8 from the community of Gallina off NM-96. FR-8 is a good road. From FR-8 turn onto FR-9 which is not a graded road but passable to an unsigned/undesignated forest road shown on forest maps (36.2784, -106.7895). This road may require a high clearance vehicle under dry conditions. The road winds around, as shown on the forest map, to a point south of the highpoint.
