I camped out at the trailhead and hit the trail at 5AM for this beast. I was a little worried about running into Grizzlies on this one, so I made lots of noise as I ascended up towards the NW slopes. It was kinda freaky! By the time I hit the talus gully the sun was up, and the bugs were attacking me. The Western ledges were awesome, and the summit couloir was a little tougher than I expected (Class 3-ish). At the top there was a peregrine falcon hanging out, which made it that much more awesome. I hung out for about an hour and then headed over to “Ear on Ear Mountain” to sit where the Native Americans supposedly used to hang out and scope the land. Awesome day, and I made great time.
