After attempting the slightly higher Dyrfjall in behind but deciding to turn around when it required ascending the glacier and then likely up a snow couloir overtop of some big obvious holes where the snow and ice met the rock (I didn't have crampons, ice axe, rope or parter)...I sidehilled around to Dyrfjallstindur and was drawn upward to what looked like a potential break in the headwall. Turned out there was a reasonable ramp that basically ran all the way to the narrow seat of a summit. And the views were incredible. Summit register was in a box that for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to open.
