From Melmerby. Took the lane up past the drive to Gale Hall through Rake Beck Wood. Left the track at a gate after a copse at NY 63275 37279, crossing a field and down to ford Rake Beck. Followed the beck east to a wall, with a small broken gate. Then traversed south over another stream, then steeply up to the craggy summit. Returned much the same way. Solo.
