I went to a wedding yesterday & was feeling a little hung over. Between that & the gusty winds, I was feeling very unmotivated today. I forced myself out to climb the Triple first, then the Double, then Coyote Skull. These peaks are only about 15 minutes from my house. Even with the high winds, I was glad I got out. The scenery & views were much prettier than I expected. It was very gusty up top on the peaks, to the point it was blowing me around a bit. Encountered my first rattlesnake of the year up pretty high on the Double. Coyote Skull was the toughest of the three. The small flowers are starting to bloom. I saw some phacelia, wooly daisies & even a couple of encelia in bloom, plus some others. Overall, a nice half day hike. Unfortunately, I have no stats for the hike because my GPS wasn't working until I got to the top of Coyote Skull. I've heard that the Air Force base sometimes blocks them, so that maybe what happened (?)
