I climbed this while living in Montserrat during the first signs of volcanic activity in 1993. The trail was used for utilities by the island's electric company and was traveled almost daily for mainenance.
There was a dramatic drop in temperature at the top which was a welcome change from the island's blazing heat. Mountain Crab could be found along the trail seeking shade. This was a bizarre sight for a Bostonian-the only crab I'd ever seen were in the ocean or on my plate. Sadly, these were inedible. Had clouds not rolled in, we would have had an amazing view.
