"A solo ascent, for a change of pace, from 431. A bit sluggish as I’m still trying to adjust to the heat/altitude combo after leaving NY a few days ago. I left the trail runners in the car and went with light boots not knowing how much snow I would encounter. The few snow patches were fun to cruise through and didn’t require the wearing of any boot. Stream crossings were easy to hop across or simply stomp through." — Nimblefoot • Jul 18, 2023
"Finally invested in a ski mountaineering set up and this seemed like a good peak to test things out. Suncupped conditions made things tricky on the way up but found surprisingly good conditions on the way down. Tagged two sisters as before skiing out. " — Christopher • Jun 14, 2023
"After years of looking south and seeing the highest peaks in the Tahoe region dominating the skyline, I finally stopped making excuses (e.g., too far to drive, not enough time, eating a donut, etc.). Today was the day!
All went well except underestimated how much water to bring. Up above treeline, it was hot and hardly any shade. I knew this going in, but I drained my 2 Nalgenes way too early. Aborted attempt on South Jobs (Steve?) as dehydration started to dog me. All in all, a must-do loop in Tahoe, but be prepared for a big day with no water source most of the way.
