"Headed up the Mt watson track at 7am, 1.30 mins to the bushline. Had breakfast then carried accross the tops over Leitch and around and back up the Croesus Knob and back down the paparoa track back to the carpark.
Stunning weather, track quite dry and easy going. " — emmathomas • Jan 17, 2024

"Dave W. I I walked up arriving at the summit at 10.30am. Used the track. We had a 30min break on top then headed to the low peak where the communications gear is for a look around. Wx was a bit cloudy on the way up but began to clear during our descent. I first climbed this hill in 1975 and last was up there in 2018 when I climbed it on three occasions." — glennj • Jan 16, 2023
"DW and I biked and then walked from Dunollie via Rewanui. The wx was mixed and when on the tops we could see it snowing and raining to the north and east of us. We didn't spend a lot of time roaming the tops because of the strong cold wind but visited the trig high point which the map calls Mt Davy but not Pt 1047 that we would have visited as well as other high points if the wx was more pleasant. The track especially through the taller bush is in surprisingly good condition despite no maintenance for years." — glennj • Sep 15, 2022
"Dave W and I walked up the range from Mt Watson and traversed Croesus Knob before dropping to the Croesus track and following it back to Smoke Ho carpark where we had started from. The circuit took 8hrs including stops." — glennj • May 12, 2022
