Includes all 32 Georgia peaks over 4,000 feet high with at least 120 feet of clean prominence. All peaks are in north Georgia, a 2-3 hour drive from Atlanta. All peaks can be reached on day trips, but some require bushwhacking off-trail. The Georgia Appalachian Trail Club offers a patch for completers who meet a few route requirements around the state high point. More at https://georgia-atclub.org/georgia-4000.

"Just did the tiny summit trail. NOTE: GIS marker is behind a fence that blocks off access to the firetower. Museum/park staff are happy to open it so you can take a picture though!" — ThisGrrrlFriday • Nov 1, 2022
"Visited Clingmans Dome earlier in the day then drove to Brasstown Bald, parked in the lot and walked up the summit trail. Really nice day, great views from the observation tower." — jodola • Oct 4, 2022
"Drove Tray Mountain Road as far as car could go, then hiked rest of way to Indian Grave Gap Road to Indian Grave Gap. Hiked Appalachian Trail from Indian Grave Gap to Unicoi Gap. Photos from three overlooks just east of Rocky Mountain peak." — davidensley • Jan 23, 2021
"Hiked Appalachian Trail from Unicoi Gap to Blue Mountain peak. (On return hiked abandoned forest service road from gap by campsite to Cut Locust Gap and bushwhacked to the peaks on either side. Both peaks were covered in briers as was the road.) The Appalachian Trail west of Unicoi Gap up Blue Mountain is similar to the east side up Rocky Mountain, but footing is a little easier on the west side allowing for a faster pace. Both sides feature 1000-ft+ elevation gain for a good workout. Both sides are covered in trees with no views, but in the winter an occasional break between the branches allows a peek at another peak.
P.S. Rocky Mountain has three nice vistas on the Appalachian Trail just beyond peak coming from Unicoi Gap. See photos at my second Rocky Mountain summit." — davidensley • Dec 22, 2020
"This was a quick stop, on our way through. Walked the path to the top just as the sun set, hiked back down in the dark. It was a Saturday night, and it was beautifully it gets cold! Couldn’t find the marker though. " — CravinoCrew • Dec 19, 2020
