A HC-4WD road get you close making for a short 1.5 mile round trip hike. No trails so it's a bush whack with scrub oak being the major obstacle. Getting to the mountain requires a drive down a dirt road (TP-150) for 13.5 miles to a fence line/yellow cattle guard (see the picture). Turn onto the dirt, rutted road and follow it west towards the mountain. It will eventually leave the fence line and head south-southwest meeting another road then heading generally west up the mountain. The further you go the worse the road becomes so park when conditions dictate. The peak is not seen until you get very close. A benchmarker can be found south of the rocks marking the HP. No summit log. Getting to the mountain from US-64: Near milemarker 236 a sign points to the access road. This road is also called Montoso Road on some maps. While the road is graded dirt/gravel it does have some rough spots such as rock outcrops and ruts. Expect it to wind around a bit, heading, east and finally north. The ranch road I used to get up the mountain starts at 36.6833N, 105.7274W. The yellow cattle guard/fence line make it easy to spot.
