There was about a half foot of snow on the ground. This made for a quite slippery climb. On the way down I intentionally walked through areas with deeper snow to alleviate slipping. This is a tall hill for North Dakota. I set intermediate goals of reaching the top of one level at a time. My wife waited in our car on a nearby gravel road.
