A cool morning that turned warm quickly. A very runnable AT to the summit of Brush Mountain. Very dry with little water in Craig Creek, but thankfully enough for cold soak afterward. The trail was pretty grassy along the ridge, but the Audie Murphy Monument was extremely impressive on account of the heartfelt artifacts left behind by hikers. After reading the story regarding the most decorated WW II soldier, it was certainly worth the effort to climb up there and pay my respects. Ran past the monument for a while in order to bag the peak. Legs felt great on a terrific day.
