This is a popular peak in the Dolly Sods Wilderness of the Monongahela National Forest--even though there's not an official trail to the top. They call it Lion's Head. Like a lot of Appalachian peaks, you can't really see much from below. Now for a lesson in pronunciation: It's not "Breathed" as in "Mom, he breathed on me!" It's a surname that could almost rhyme with the word “tethered” if you said it with a British accent. “TE-thed” / “BRE-thed.” Anyway, it’s a beautiful hike! The trail I took to the summit isn't marked, but there will be lots of folks to ask directions from, and a lot of people at the top.
