From Kington, following Offa's Dyke path up the east side of Bradnor, crossing golf course to Rushock, quick detour up the latter, then approaching this hill crossing field NE, then making way up through Knill Garraway Wood. A sign there informs us that the wood has been "undermanaged" and the forestry commission has got to it, cutting down a lot of mature trees and planting new ones. The top of Brampton Scar shows signs of a lot of quarrying, now heavily overgrown. The trig point is tucked away in there. From here continued east a bit before turning south past Gortsy Dole and Kennel Cottage then heading back to Kington through Rushock and Barton. 12 km in all.
