This was such a nice little hike! I parked on the Boxcar Cove Road (very good condition). One could actually drive right up Boxcar Rock, which is just a little hill. I continued along the shoreline, visiting overlooks & coves on the way to Black Island. The views were so pretty! I saw lots of wildlife too, including a couple of rams, a grey fox who ran up right behind me, a blue heron, an egret & lots of other birds. The weather was perfect & I could've stayed out all day. I looped back around to the Jeep on some atv trails. The only downside is that there is lots of trash out there from off roaders.
