What a neat area! I've been wanting to climb Bat Mountain forever - today was the day. We approached from the north, following a wet wash quite a ways. Once out of the wash, we took the easiest line (from what we could tell) towards the mountain. The final push to the top was steep and tiring, but the views were worth it. We had high winds on the way up and down, but that helped to negate the heat. Once back down from the summit, we decided to try a different descent, side-hilling, then following a ridge back to the initial wash. I don't think we saved any time, but it was nice seeing something different.
