My brother drove in from Arizona for our summit of Anthony's Nose. I decided on an approach from the east side of the range, which I hadn't read about anyone doing before. We took trails to the base of the range, then headed up a wash to the ridge, climbing steeply in places. Once on the ridge we had an easier time. We had to climb and descend in a few places, then finally it was an uphill push to the summit. The ridge on the final section is well defined in places, and potentially dangerous. We took our time and made it with no problems though. We descended back to the low point and then started down into a different canyon and wash. We descended fast, but closer to the bottom of the canyon I had a scare with a rattlesnake. Luckily it warned me of it's presence, otherwise I would've walked right to it. After that we carefully made our way down the remainder of the wash until we found one of the trails crossing it. We took a few trails back to the embankment which protects the neighborhood from flooding, and made our way back to the Chuck Heinrich park were we started. This was a great climb and my brother really enjoyed it as well.
