Part of an epic 18-mile trail run/hike, Angels Rest is a bit misleading. First of all, it's not THE Angels Rest with spectacular views that you attain from the AT. As a matter of fact, I found out when I reached the bottom that the road up to this mountain was private, with no trespassing. I actually reached the peak through a thick forest of young trees in which I got tangled. It was a trail until it wasn't as I was completely a loop of the area. There is no view other than a tower, so you aren't missing much.
