"Ascended the regular route from High Camp, which starts around 5,300m. The route was snow free so scrambling was easy, although very loose in some areas. Crevasses were visible and the few snow bridges we crossed were solid. 4 hours to Veintimilla, and another 30 minutes to Whymper (Chimborazo summit). I asked Chelsea to marry me at sunrise, with Sangay erupting on the horizon! " — chelsea • Oct 7, 2023

"Began our approach at 2:30am and Carihuairazo was covered by a lightning storm. The storm moved on light snow remained for our climb. At 4:30am, we roped up for climbing steep snow and a loose scramble section. On the summit by 5:30am. " — ivo • Oct 4, 2023
"Via the normal south ridge route. Descended the eastern gulley. We found some fun scramble sections that never felt overly exposed. The real challenge was managing the impact of elevation on our second day in Ecuador. The was a greatly enjoyable day in Reserva Ecológica Los Illinizas. " — ivo • Oct 2, 2023
