"Started at Stevensville Road Trailhead. Went up the Frost Trail to Long Trail and summited The Forehead. Kept on the Long Trail and summited The Nose. Returned by heading south on the Long Trail the Forehead Bypass then Wallace Cutoff to Butler Lodge. The Bypass has a lot of slick wet rock. Checked out the Butler Lodge and then descended via the Butler Lodge Trail. Total distance was 6.15 miles with 2,678 feet of elevation gain." — Zardoz • Jun 30, 2023
"On one of the most hot and humid days in the northeast, this hike along the Long Trail on the ridge, fit the bill. A mid 70s and a 25mph breeze was just what the doctor ordered! Followed the LT south to the lookout points at 3800', then returned to the Forehead summit for wonderfully hazy views before heading toward The Chin." — SteveM_StickMan • Aug 7, 2022
"Started out from the Toll road pkg. lot on this incredibly hot day to visit some of the areas I didn't make it to in 2012. There was a nice breeze on the ridge to make hiking along the Long Trail comfortable. Continued up to The Nose afterward." — SteveM_StickMan • Jun 7, 2021
"Marielle and I hiked Mansfield today. We totally forgot that it was Labor Day weekend and stupid busy. We set up a car spot and went up Mansfield The Forehead first. The Wampaloofus Tr was a lot of fun and worth doing it again. Nice views from the Forehead." — newenglandwarrior • Sep 2, 2017
