"Started at 7:30AM on a cloudy Sunday. Slow and steady pace at a counter clockwise loop. More water in the stream than usual. Lots of birds, rabbits and lizards along the way. And also, a couple of trail runners practicing along backbone trail for the bulldog marathon. It was already sunny by the time I reached the peak at almost 10AM." — adarsh almalvez • May 19, 2024
"My first visit to Trabuco Peak after the Holy Fire. Meanwhile, it was a foggy day in The mountains. The area isn't quite as green as it used to be, but it is starting to come back. Made the side visit to Horsethief Peak as well. Skipped on Vicker Benchmark and Mount Cairn this time around. Both are right off the road and it seemed like I would be padding my numbers if I included them (peak climbers integrity dilemma). " — MikeTeeples • May 4, 2024
"Did a medium sized loop through Griffith Park. I didn’t attempt the grand loop to capture every peak in the park. Also, Bee Rock is off-limits the first 6 months of the year. Aside from that, I’ll do the Cahuenga - Mt Lee peak cluster on a separate hike next time around, since it is more convenient that way." — MikeTeeples • Apr 6, 2024
"This hike started at 9 AM with my grandpa. The trail was flat with rolling hills and decent views and was kind of boring. Then after a while of views and grass meadows, I reached San Juan Hill. It was a hill full of grass and the summit trail has a new sign for it. The summit had an antenna site, 3 benchmarks, a concrete sign, and some good views of the surrounding area. Then I went down the Bonivian Delight trail and then the trail and a sheer drop and also was very green and had mustard flowers. Then I passed by a creek and then a large overgrown meadow. Then I went down the Telegraph Canyon trail and then crossed over many creeks. Then after passing through a boring section with the only interesting thing being a windswept meadow, I reached the Easy Street Trail and climbed over the creek at the bottom of the trail. From there I climbed back up to the trailhead. " — lc444 • Apr 1, 2024
"I started this hike at 8:30 AM. I headed up pash the gushing San Antonio Creek and also passed through the area with many cabins, it had 2 creeks to cross there. Then I headed through the oak forests and then climbed through the semi-flat area with many pines and the first views. Then I climbed up some more canyons ad areas with views and passed by a boulder blocking the road. After that, I reached Stoddard Flat, which is ver flat and the junction to the use trail up the ridge. It was slightly steep at first, but then became a light scramble down the rocks and a crossing across a slippery rock. Then I reached the summit of Stoddard Peak, which had a witness post, a register, and 2 signs, an some very nice views. I was also barely above the clouds here, an estimate of 20 ft max.
