"Began the hike from Frame Avenue in Hacienda Heights. Took the Skyline Trail west to Workman Hill. After that I formed a loop hike of Workman Ridge before returning to where I parked." — MikeTeeples • Feb 4, 2023
"Leisurely hike up grassy and coastal sage scrub slopes via fire road all the way. I started at the fire road gate off Turnbull Canyon Road. I hiked from the gate to the summit, then down a trail on the east side of the hill to Turnbull Canyon Road, then to Turnbull Canyon Trail to the bottom of the canyon. I returned up in reverse summitting Workman Hill a second time, going back down to my car by the gate off Turnbull Canyon Road. Nice, peaceful hike with few people until entering Turnbull canyon's bottom, where many hikers coming from Hellman Wilderness Park walk. Trunbull Canyon's trail on the bottom is shaded by Coast Live Oaks, California Sycamores, Arroyo Willows, and a few Black Cottonwoods. The road up Workman Hill is wholly exposed to the sun, but it was mostly cloudy today with temperatures in the mid to upper 50's F. There are a few other summit bumps near Workman Hill that are well worth exploring as well, some with steep dropoffs down rugged canyons with ancient marine sedimentary cliffs." — brianpowell • Jan 18, 2017
