Stephan was feeling sad from staying home all day on Thursday, so he wanted to get out and do something shorter and easier. I still had never done Wind Ridge, so that's what we ended up doing. It has a great approach trail where we saw basically no one. It was gentle but just with a few junctions and turns to keep track of. When we got to the base of the ridge around the bend in the open we started seeing people and lots of them! We passed a number of folks on the way up. We did the quick scramble move on the ascent (did the bypass on the descent) and enjoyed the scenery, especially the view of Mount Lougheed / Windtower and West Wind Pass. Wow, such an impressive view for sure and it was cool to see it from the other side! Jenna and Simon went up Pigeon the same day, so we texted when we were on top and waved lol. We ate our Subway at the top, then headed back down. We saw two huge groups - one of some Eastern Europeans of about 12 and one likely Rocky Mountain Ramblers or older folks of about 10 or 12. We also saw Raymond from the climbing gym. Then on the way back, virtually no one again until we were almost back at the car. We wore microspikes the whole way up and down.

I rarely get into this area as it's closed half the year, then I'm typically in Kane peak season until mid-September... so I really only have time from mid September to Nov 30 to explore here.
