"Willow Peak and Bonanza Arch. Summit Willow first and then traversed the ridgeline over to the Arch. The approach was pretty straight forward, second time doing it, but the descent route we took is not one that I would recommend. The descent route was okay until we tried to cross from the first open wash we got to, to the other open wash where I car was. The cross over section was so dense that it was nearly impossible to get through. We did, but it was the wrong decision. If I was to go this way again I would stay in the first open wash that we came to and follow it down and around the area that we crossed. It would have been a little longer, but it would have been open and quicker. All in all, a great day!" — Heartattackbruce • Sep 16, 2023

"Went out and bagged these two. Came up from camp bonanza and it was moderate to steep switchbacks to gain the ridge . Bonanza itself is very straightforward nice trail the whole way. Willow was not as strsightforward . I found staying as high as possible was the best move to get to Willow. The arch is a little less than halfway there you can get up the chute right past it and stay up the rest of the way. Did not find a log book on Willow . " — joshortman • Sep 30, 2022

"East Face route....steep and brushy....almost 3200 feet of elevation in 2.3 miles. Followed a ridge line up and followed a wash down. It was raining so we didn't come down in the wash. Inside the wash is definitely an option for an ascent route. " — Heartattackbruce • Jul 16, 2022

"Drove up Wheeler Pass Rd to the pass. Short 1.75 miles, easy to follow ridge line ascent from there. Continued on to the Bonanza Arch. Beautiful ridge top route over. Came back to Willow and down to the pass. " — Heartattackbruce • Jul 14, 2022

"I was invited to hike by some experienced Mountaineers Susan, Judy and Jim. I was surprised by how rugged this route is! I thought it would be a relaxing Sunday Amble!!! NOT! Very great workout tho and I gained more experience in class 3 and class 3+ up climbs and downclimbs. The Arch along the way was amazing too. We thought the peak was a highpoint with a stack of rocks but we traversed the ridge all the way past it to the end where we found a sign in jar and a pretty flower covered meadow area. The entire route had beautiful blooms. My legs have tons of scratches from the brush. Wild Mustangs met us at the end of the day. " — paula.raimondi • Jul 10, 2016

"I hiked up the north ridge straight out of Cold Creek. It was really steep...think it gained almost 4000 feet in 2.5 miles & there is some bushwacking. But, I saw big herds of elk with calves & many deer. It was awesome! Really enjoyed the route. There were lots of clouds which kept the sun from being too brutal. This would not be a good route for a hot, sunny day." — StudioHoodoo • Jul 13, 2013
