"Nice trail network in this northwest corner of Door County peninsula. Had to do a serious bushwhack for this Death's Door Bluff high point. There is an incorrectly identified summit sign in the area. Lots of blowdowns and undergrowth to contend with. Although there is a shipwreck near the shore that the parking area kiosk says you can see, I didn't look for it." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 7, 2025

"Finished up my day hiking Washington Island notable locations by climbing this tower looking out over the Sturgeon Bay area. Also found where the Ice Age Trail Eastern End was nearby, at the ski slope lookout." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 7, 2025

"My 3rd season summit of this State High Point. I had all intentions of climbing the steel tower, which is 20' higher than the wood one, but the disconnected lower ladder was too unstable to risk it. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the cab on top's floor has also been removed, making this a much more dangerous proposition. I contented myself with a 2nd trip up the 40' wood tower on this bluebird day!" — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 2, 2025

"This is the hill adjacent to Timms Hill, which was once thought to be the highest peak in Wisconsin. The story is that, since the state wanted to make a park out of it for tourism, that it was going to take it away from the landowner by force. In response, the landowner told State officials he would bulldoze the summit, effectively reducing the hill's elevation. Whether this came to pass is anyone's guess, so Wisconsin went with Timms instead. I went over there, and with the owner's permission, went up that hill just in case it really is higher. Found both summit markers as previously described." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 2, 2025

"After visiting a couple more local area high points, I came here. This is a nice observation tower near where the Ice Age Trail goes through the northern section of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. It also happens to be the highest point of Sheboygan County, about halfway between Milwaukee and Green Bay. I did a quick out and back here, since I wanted to get further on my trip visiting scattered family members. Nice 1/4 mile trail with lots of trail-built steps and resting benches (!) for the non hikers visiting. Three levels of observation decks on the well constructed tower. There is a viewfinder with compass marks for certain geographic places in the area. The trees have grown to the point that you need to go all the way to the top to see anything now. Views were so-so since it was a breezy, hazy cloudy day." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 22, 2023
