Nevada mountains highlights

"A beautiful Sunday-morning hike. We started at the very nice park off of Galleria Drive, walked on a paved trail (possibly the River Mountains Loop Trail?) for a portion, and then followed a very well-maintained trail (large enough to be a 4x4 road for a bit - possibly for power line maintenance?) up to the hiking-only portion to Hummel Peak. A very nice trail the whole way; a flag at the summit with a solar-powered nightlight (making the American flag display at night actually legal). From Hummel peak, we descended back halfway before taking a sharp right turn straight up some loose sandstone" - Pauleen Peak, psychikingjes, Dec 9, 2018
"Drove over to Bitter Springs Road & took the quick trip up this one after climbing Horn Toad Peak over in Redstone. It's odd...the numbered point on the map is actually the lower of the two summits. I went up the gully between the two & visited both." - Glyph Point, StudioHoodoo, Dec 9, 2018
"I had seen Paula's pics from this area and was interested in checking it out myself. Hiked up with a handful of great people (including Paula). We started by taking the well-defined trail up to Hummel Peak, then traversed over to Pauleen Peak. From there, our group split. Some went back down the same way. A few of us decided to follow the ridge to check out a couple of giant cairns that we could see from Pauleen. This is a beautiful area!" - Pauleen Peak, Kevin, Dec 9, 2018
