"More difficult hike than expected due to fallen trees and underbrush that hasn't been cleared in some time. Definitely use a trail app and follow the red and white blazes as best you can -- though there are times you have to leave the trail to circumvent fallen trees. " — rick-brown • May 7, 2026
"Day was running late and we had to get to our hotel, so we drove to the top. However, given the narrowness of the road, sharp curves, lack of a shoulder, and the 18 degree grade, hiking along AR 155 to the summit is not recommended. " — rick-brown • May 7, 2026
"HP #20!
Very accessible, safe but windy road to the top. No fee to enter. Phenomenal lookout both along the road up (on the south side) and at the top next to the lodge. Trail is just to the east of the lodge and very easy to follow. " — sklarguy • Jan 17, 2026
"Wildcat Mountain
Pulled over on the side of the road and hiked up it. Rough and thick forest all the way up. Good view at the top of the surrounding mountains. Probably best to go in the winter.

"Stopped at a road next to the mountain and hiked up it. There is an old washed out road that you could potentially hike up if you wanted. The hike that we did started out with incredible thick woods before slowly transitioning into more and more rocky terrain. There is a lot of exposed rock you will need to maneuver around. At the top of the mountain there are wild plums and passionflowers. Overall a fun hike." — abAR • Aug 3, 2025
