"Morning walk up Tuhua and back home for lunch. It was a nice fine day after a frosty start. There were a few people about including another Peakery member who had an early start and was on the summit for sunrise." — glennj • Oct 28, 2023
"Walked up Mt Tuhua via the track then continued to Pt1085m and a little beyond before retracing my steps. Saw two deer grazing on a slip soon after commencing walking. On the tops I saw several powelliphanta snail shells, quite a few gentians in flower and a number of white butterflies. Reddy/pink snow berries were fruiting. Wx was hot above the bushline. No other people were seen while out in the hills." — glennj • Mar 2, 2022
"Walked up and back via the track from just south of Hans Bay, Lake Kaniere. It took 2hrs from the car park to get to the top today and it was a bit quicker descending. Whilst returning I met five other people on their way up. " — glennj • Dec 24, 2021
"A four hour up and back trip excluding a ten minute break. There were no views from the summit due to cloud but twenty minutes down from the summit there were good views. On my way down I met four others on their way up." — glennj • Feb 7, 2020
"Walked up after lunch along with a mates son and partner who were staying with us. The wx was overcast and a little cool on top but quite good. Inland views were restricted by cloud but there were good views to the west. The return visit took 4½ hrs including a few photo stops and a snack break. There were 6 or 7 others who also climbed Tuhua that we met as they were descending. The lower portion of the track has recently been cleared." — glennj • Apr 13, 2018
"Another trip. Had lunch on top and then headed back down. There was shallow snow from above the bush line which was firm enough to be good walking. There was another guy on the hill whom I met near the summit." — glennj • Sep 11, 2017
