"Our Explorer Scout group is staying at Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) for 10 days and this was an acclimatisation walk for our trip overnight to Blumlisalp Hutte in a few days. The whole group went in 4 separate groups having taken the Allmenalp Cable Car up. Cloud marred most of the ascent but just before the zigzags the skies cleared and we could see the summit and Ochinesee behind us. All in all a glorious day. I walked with my youngest." — charliegill • Aug 4, 2024

"I was so lucky to sneak on to this expedition as I was supposed to be on a different activity on this day. I love James Bond having grown up watching all the films on many occasions so I was invited along at the last minute. Some of the group got the cable car and some walked and we even managed lunch in the revolving restaurant. A most memorable day out although the views were obscured by cloud most of the day. The thrill walk at Birg was also an exciting detour" — charliegill • Aug 3, 2024

"What a day out! We did this as a day trip from KISC and were picked up by coach at 07:30 to take us to Lauterbrunnen for the mountain train up to Kleine Scheidegg and a trip up through the mountain for an explore.
We then got the train back down to KS and walked to Grund which had marvellous views but was a fairly brutal downhill especially at the bottom!" — charliegill • Aug 2, 2024

"Traversed the Mittellegi ridge from Eigerglestcher to the Mittellegi hut where we spent the night. Continued on to the summit the next morning and back around the Mönch to the Jungfraujoch station. Great conditions. The fixed ropes make this climb meaningfully easier. Still took us 8 hours from hut to train." — danishclimber • Jul 29, 2021

"We did it the hard way, in summer and up the Wildstrubel Glacier. It took us about three and a half hours from the Lammeren hut to the Mittlerer gipfel. The views of the entire Alps from the summit were sensational. We were lucky to be completely alone on the mountain on a crystal clear autumn day. The glacier and its crevasses are not to be under estimated however." — chrispatient • Sep 30, 2011
