Bern mountains highlights

"We did it the hard way, in summer and up the Wildstrubel Glacier. It took us about three and a half hours from the Lammeren hut to the Mittlerer gipfel. The views of the entire Alps from the summit were sensational. We were lucky to be completely alone on the mountain on a crystal clear autumn day. The glacier and its crevasses are not to be under estimated however." - Wildstrubel, chrispatient, Sep 30, 2011
"We had taken the cable car up to the plateau above Kandersteg for our Explorer Scouts to do some climbing. Their leader, David, and I took the opportunity to climb this peak by the waymarked path." - Gällihorn, munroman, Aug 11, 2009
"Horu jsme zdolali s Petrem Nemravou a Pavlem Hroudou. První den jsme aklimatizovali výjezdem do horní stanice vlaku. Ve spojení s přípitkem se nám trochu zamotala hlava. Druhý den jsme vyrazili za krásného počasí a horu jsme zdolali. Zážitek vrcholový hřebínek - dlouhý a ostrý :-)" - Mönch, jaroslavmuzik, Aug 1, 2008
"This was after my 1999 Trip to the Bernease Oberland where John bailed on me at the last minute as he and his wife Maria were not getting on so well - he bails on me just after he and I sent them off to a flight, packed up our car (after 1 week in Chamonix already) and were off to Switzerland. Needless to say I am there completely alone and he says - "here buddy, take the car, I'll pay for it - I better salvage my marriage" as he ran off with his pack to a British Air flight to London - I had a long lonely drive ahead of me. This is rather typical of our friendship and climbing relationship." - Jungfrau, markhadland, Jul 2, 1999
