3.34.2021~Solo, Sunrise Mtn/AFB, 9 Peak Extravaganza (CCW Loop). 10.25 miles, 4,500’ gain in 6:55hrs. The Minefield, The Triple, The Double, Coyote Skull, Sunrise Mtn. North Summit, Sunrise Mtn., 2,960’, Unity & Division Peaks. Gosh, that was an a$$ kicker. Trekking on carnivorous limestone for that many hours was punishing. My feet are pulverized. It was warm but with cool breezes but some sections in the valley were hot. The wind diminished in the afternoon, so I eventually had to ration my 1.5 liters of water. Stunning area!
