"This was the 5th day of a 6 day amazing trip into Banff and Jasper. I don't have a lot of climbing experience but I am very strong. I was stunned about how intense everything was...adjusting to the altitude especially. This last summit was intense. The last 100 yards or so seemed to go straight up and the rock was very loose and extremely dangerous. However I made the summit and the views were amazing. On the way down there was crazy lightening and heavy rain which made it that much more intense. Once at the bottom we soaked in the hot bathes which was amazing! I really found out a lot about myself on this amazing trip and I can't wait to come back next year!" — michaelschwartz • Jul 10, 2015
"We started out late on an overcast day but needed to squeeze out one last hike in our holiday with our 2 kids 4 and 2 years old. The first 2km are quite easy and on a paved path with dense forest on both sides. I then ran ahead to train for the Canadian Death Race which we were running the following weekend in Grande Cache. The next 2km is where you gain about 400m elevation over many switchbacks i ran to the summit took some photos and ran 1.5 km back to meet up with my wife and kids(as we weren't sure how far they would hike before tuckering out) but my 4 year old son was determined to reach the summit. And he did with less than 1km of piggy backing over 8km. The views are amazing from the summit but can be quite windy and cold so come prepared. We finished the round trip in 3 hours but could have explored some more if it wasn't so late." — adam-bickerstaff • Jul 25, 2014
"Unlike my previous trip up this turned out to be the most gorgeous of days with clear skys, beautiful cumulus clouds and tons of sunlight, perfect for photographing the many surrounding peaks. A touch of rain the previous night resulted in a beautiful rainbow photo over Roche Miette and provided amazingly clean skies with just a touch of morning haze to the east. Enjoyed a nice comfortable nap just below the summit with gentle breezes blowing and then returned to the hotsprings for a well earned soak in hot and cold water." — Mountainman • Jul 21, 2013
"Finally got to see the peaks from the summit, last time it was very foggy. A great day this time, spent lots of time looking around. A nice evening in the hot pool after coming down. Kati, Myself. Elevation gain for the trip 700m, YTD elevation gain 37847m." — MtnJohn • Jul 22, 2012
"Started from the car park at Miette Hot Springs, the trail is also the start of a longer trail along the Fiddler valley and to Mystery Lake. We see a Mule deer and red squirrel in the first few yards. The trail climbs steadily, winding up through endless pinetrees and a myriad of colourful flowers. As we get higher, we get a glimpse of the summit dome above the treeline. Once above the trees, the views are excellent with rocky peaks of many different colours all around, with endless pine forests stretching along the valleys. On the top there is a cool wind and several friendly chipmunks come to investigate us. One even tries to drink water from the platypus tube. Return to the car park by the same route and see more deer. The car park is busy with people going to the hot pool, which is why the mountain gets its name, from the pungent smell from the hot springs." — davidlong • Jul 27, 2005
"A very foggy day. No idea what it was like... just followed the path until we could not go higher! Really need to go back. The view from the pool is one you won't get tired of for a long soak!" — MtnJohn • Sep 3, 2004
