Nice day to conquer a 9000 foot mountain butte whose prominence makes it visible for many miles. Maps show the area all around the mountain as US forest land but those maps are misleading as large sections are private property. That includes all approaches from the south which is the easiest way to access the mountain where signs are posted warning trespassers. The mountain can be legally accessed from the north although routing to the mountain would be more complex. As the pictures show, there is a cliff band around the summit area. A notch on the southside of the mountain provides access through the cliff with little scrambling.
