"Crossed over 79 after Cuyamaca and went right into Stonewall. Much busier; I understand why. This is a fun little summit with a nice, quick trail up. Good payoff for the easy climb." — edg • Sep 16, 2023

"Great hike! Multiple peak day. Summited both Cuyamaca and Stonewall Peaks. I did Cuyamaca via the Azalea Glen Loop Trail. After making back to the parking lot, I crossed over to the Stonewall Peak Trail. Instead of following the out and back though, I decided to continue on doing the loop which takes you over near Little Stonewall Peak and then to the California Hiking Trail." — Philip-Yoho • Nov 18, 2018

"I needed to escape from Santa Barbara and the Thomas Fire so I headed down to SD county for some hiking. I haven't done much hiking this far south, so I started my trip in the Cuyamaca Rancho SP to hike Stonewall, Middle, and Cuyamaca in a big loop from the campground. I started by going up the beautifully constructed Stonewall trail and spent some time getting the lay of the land from the pointy, rocky summit." — klotito • Dec 17, 2017

"Quick morning hike. Started at 8:30 am and were back at the trailhead by 10:30am. There were so many termites swarming the sign at the peak that you couldn't stay there for more than a few seconds without being totally covered with them." — jakeshurer • Jul 15, 2017

"Great post Christmas hike. Just a few days after it snowed. Easy trek up to Stonewall. I did have poles and micro spikes though. Took the loop trail back down and travelled on untouched snow. With the exception of the deer that were somewhere ahead of me leaving tracks in the snow and the mountain lion that was following them." — Philip-Yoho • Dec 27, 2016

"Pretty great hike, although the climb up is pretty crowded, I took a different route down and it was mellow and beautiful. The peak is very col. This hike is worth it. I have a full trip report and directions on my blog here: https://hikingguy.com/hiking-trails/hiking-stonewall-peak-trail-san-diego/" — HikingGuy • Nov 4, 2015

"Walked across from Paso Picacho CG to the Stonewall Peaks Trail, 2.1 miles w/800' gain 1-way. Made the traverse over to brushy Little Stonewall Peak(5,250') for a 2-peak hike on this mountain. Nice views from the summit structure." — BradStemm • Dec 16, 2013
