"After summiting the points to the east, I made my way over to Stuart. There was about 2-3 inches of snow on the higher reaches of the peaks, and it was snowing for part of the ascent. Most of the views were obscured by the low cloud cover, but this was a fun peak." — ZachTeich • Mar 2, 2023
"I parked on the side of the road on N Bush HWY FR 204 close to the Butcher Jones Beach Rd Junction. There is a gate right next to the park that leads to what is considered a wilderness area and not Saguaro Lake Recreational Area.
My goal here was to summit Stewart Mountain, but to make things a little longer and more challenging I also wanted to summit the two peaks next to it. I followed what appeared to be a commonly used trail by the wild horses in the area over to Peak 2931 before starting my ascent from the northeastern side. Once I reached the saddle on the North side I summitted Peak 2931.
From there I went down the mountain straight south into the canyon that most people seem to take straight from the parking to Stewart Mountain, but instead of going through the canyon/use trail to Stewart Mountain I immediately climbed up to Stewart Mountain East. It wasn't too difficult here and the views of the lake were probably best here. Looking westward I saw what seemed to be a resupply station with water and other amenities for park rangers maybe?
