"All reserves was closed due to weather warnings. We decided to climb Stellenboschberg from Paradyskloof and descend to Coetzenburg side. We started with humid cloud cover with moisture in the air and ended with a hot sunny day. Dipping in the dam at Coetzenburg was well deserved. " — LeRoux-Kotze • Dec 17, 2022
"Exploratory route up the South Western face of Stellenboschberg.
Currently very overgrown on the bottom slopes with a bushy B-grade scramble to get onto the broad ledge. Overall a wild and enjoyable route on the border of suburbia. Would recommend only attempting this route if you are accustomed to off path route finding. No water after leaving the Paradyskloof river. " — CraigBurnsStellenbosch • Oct 29, 2022
"Took on the Stellenboschberg Vertical KM Challenge on the way up. Hit a new PR that I'm very chuffed with. Took some time at the top to drink in all the beauty. Nice hike back down. Great to be out in the mountains!" — Kortstok • Jan 23, 2021
"Last summit for 2020!
It was an amazing day. Started very early as I knew it was going to become extremely hot, with no water on the route. Great way to end of a very up and down year." — Kortstok • Dec 28, 2020
"Nice warm weather. Went up from Paradyskloof to Jonkershoek neck, up to summit, down ridge to Stellenbosch, upper contour paths back to Paradyskloof.
13.6km hor, 1000m vert, 5hours.
Lost paths down ridge from summit a couple of times." — ar617 • Sep 11, 2020
"Total hiking time 8h, walking time 6h. Nice long climb, very cold ontop when the wind came up and the cloud blew over. The fynbos has recovered nicely since the fire 4 years ago. " — CraigBurnsStellenbosch • Aug 4, 2019
"Started at the gate in Jonkershoek, summited Haelkop (Guardian Peak), traversed to Stellenboschberg where Willem was waiting for us at the summit. After we came down on Coetzenburg side we got a lift back to the gate with Willem." — LeRoux-Kotze • Nov 6, 2016
"As a first year that didn't have any hiking friends I hiked up Stellenbosch berg for my first mountain since I moved down from Pretoria. O yeah and I also had bleached hair because why not. " — Spaniel • Feb 21, 2016
