Currently no signs, bells, or whistles for the St. Mary's TH on the highway. Easy to drive right by when coming from the west. Nonetheless, once you achieve St. Mary's Pass, you're transported to a remote alpine world. A destination you're likely to have to yourself. The approach trail makes for a fine early morning walk. Once on the south slope, the various use trails you'll encounter primarily function for climbers on their way down. I sought out as much rock as possible for the climb independent of the trails.
