"Beautiful day for a hike. We did both North and South in one day. Followed the ridge up to South and then down the saddle to North. South isn't too exposed but you do cross a rock field near the top. North is more exposed near the top and requires a little bit of class 4 climbing. Going down the saddle is a little sketchy but doable. " — chloe185 • Aug 15, 2020
"Long uphill climb well over 13 miles round trip. Beautiful. day, extremely steep the entire trip, my hiking partner stopped when we hit the ridgeline to Suicide. Definitely bring bear bells, spray and/or some type of personal protection to use against Bears. Hike done in early August. The trail starts at The Falls Creek trailhead, about 10-15 miles out of Anchorage. The trail is well used and the first half is within trees and scrub growth. Once out of the trees, the undergrowth covers most of the trail, making it hard to see what you're doing. Many times there are rocks in the trail which can cause you to trip or stumble. Once you hit the Ridgeline it is about a mile-and-a-half to the peak. There is no real scree climbing, which makes it very comfortable, although it is easy to lose the trail to take you up to the summit. There are multiple false peaks on the way up but when you get there you will know it. To all who attempt this climb enjoy it , it is well worth it." — AlaskaHiker • Aug 6, 2017
