Day 3 of Eastern Sierra trip. Only had time for a quick pre-lunch outing today so headed up to one of the best roadside backcountry skiing destinations in California, Virginia Lakes outside of Bridgeport. The road opened all the way about a week and a half ago and someone got the memo: skiers and ice fishermen were out in droves (though didn't see any skiing ice fishermen). We traversed over to South Peak and after a quick skin/boot dropped in to harvest some great May corn. The last turns of a great season. Most importantly, immediately afterward we ended up at the Burger Barn at Bridgeport -- just go there!
