I was pleasantly surprised to find that the peak was a National Veterans Memorial! Had to park down the street and walk in on a paved road. I was moved by this memorial and spent some time reading the various plaques dedicated to the war veterans. What a different world we live in now where these veterans sacrifices are taken for granted!
