On a 6 day backpack trip in the Sawtooth Mountains I dropped my pack at the pass between Toxaway Lake & Alice Lake to summit Snowyside Peak. Headed to the ridge a little north of the actual peak, with plans to then go along the ridge to the peak. The 500' of ridge was not walkable (mostly knife edge) so two companions remained behind while I went to the peak and back. Beautiful views of different valleys from this peak. Friend went the day before and hiked along the ridge south of the peak. They had some vertical climbing, but indicated the ridge was not as knife edge as how I went.
