Great solo hike. Ring trail around the pond was in awful condition. Had to go off trail a lot to avoid the muck. Hard to find the split to the mountain trail, but once I did, it was a pretty steady climb for a good half mile or so. Gained elevation quickly to a great open false summit with a view of the pond. A brief down hill on the other side lead to the unmarked trail up to the true summit. Views aren't as good there, other than a good look at neighboring Streaked Mountain. Hike down was brisk and pretty easy.
