"It's a cool and cloudy day, I think the Sierra de Santa Ana is a good destination for today. On this mountain near the monastery there is a lot of tranquility and fresh air. We climb the Botanical Trail while other walkers are already going down. We contemplate the beautiful landscape above while we eat something. Later, a villager asks us if we have seen his cinnamon-colored dog while searching for him with the help of his wife.
The truth is that, yes, we saw it near some campers, but it had been two hours of that." — franciscobirruezo • Dec 6, 2019

"The southern face of the Sierra de Santa Ana is practically treeless, the contrast with the pine forests of the north face is important.
In the plain there are vineyards and almond trees and the ascent from the House of Las Palazonas is done by a track in good condition. The day is sunny but cool and at the top I am struck by a spider web where the owner was eating a wasp. In some mountains of this region it is easy to fall into a network that can be four or five feet in diameter and the worst thing is to remove the silk from the clothes and not know if the spider is in your head." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 26, 2018

"Quick climb to Santa Ana, with two small stops, the first to escape the rain and the second at the top to have lunch. Very few people today on this mountain due to the bad weather we have these days. At the top, the clouds pass at full speed and the sun barely shows. The motorway to Yecla is finished and I see cars passing by like ants. A ray of sunlight illuminates the city of Jumilla a few seconds as I prepare to go down, near the parking lot I see a fountain and I take the last picture." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 20, 2018

"This place is amazing. Today it was cold and windy but it was the fifth time I went up here. On the descent we followed a path West direction that reaches the back of the monastery where there is a fountain and a tree of 200 years." — franciscobirruezo • Jan 6, 2018

"I like this mountain, maybe because my sister is called Ana or maybe because it brings together in a small forest, a demanding path and vertical walls of rock. It is also near my home (43 miles).
Even with light clothing the heat crushed us, only when we reach the mountain pass we notice some breeze. From here we decided to turn to West to reach a ridge with good looking but rocky.
At the summit the birds fly around us and one of them appear in the photos." — franciscobirruezo • Jun 21, 2017

"Another day of heat and the left knee hurts me. I doubt but finally I go away to the mountain again. The highway towards Jumilla crosses many miles of fields of fruit trees in bloom, and already in Sierra de Santa Ana I find thousands of bees giving herself a banquet with the tyme and the rosemary." — franciscobirruezo • Mar 11, 2017

"From Jumilla City take the road to the Monastery of Santa Ana (S. XVI). Here take the Botanical Path of Santa Ana to the corner of "Las Tres Cruces", follow the path to the right to reach the hill. From here up to the left." — franciscobirruezo • Jan 13, 2016
