"Peak bagging traverse from Wong Tai Sin to Tai Shui Hang MTR stations using Maclehose trail section 5. GPS was essential to locate the trail start point on Shatin Pass Rd; I headed hopefully up into the bushes at the designated point and was pleased to discover ribbon markers confirming I was in the right place. On and up the trail proved to be a neat ascent route (with nice views over to yesterday’s route up Horse Ridge Lion Rock) which quickly gains the Maclehose trail at Unicorn Ridge. Temple Hill next had lots of concrete steps up to a summit radar station then an overgrown path down gave a taster of things to come; trousers/leggings recommended due much brush grass, bracken and undergrowth away from the Maclehose. Fu Yung Pit is a short overgrown sidetrack with views of Buffalo Hill and down to Sai Kung. Buffalo is double peaked with the trig point on the slightly lower West Buffalo Hill. Descent was down Buffalo’s north ridge with a sidetrack to bag Shek Nga Shan. This section is pleasantly defined and undulating with wide ranging views and Ma On Shan prominent in the north. A signposted good quality descent trail linking Mui Tsz Lam and Siu Lek Yuen is crossed at Turret pass..." — davidb • Nov 19, 2019
